“Sandberg’s Homerun Highlights Softball Split”

Game One:

“Trailing 1-0 heading into the top of the seventh, Sandberg picked up Georgia’s first hit of the game, a two-out home run to left center that tied the game at one. Arevalo retired the Tennessee side in order in the bottom of the frame, sending it into extra innings.

“Tennessee picked up a one-out single in the bottom of the eighth, but a fielder’s choice wiped out the lead runner. Sandberg threw down to second to catch Gibson stealing for the final out of the inning.”

Game Two:

“The Bulldogs pulled within one in the top of the sixth to make it a 2-1 game. Razey opened the inning with a walk, but pinch runner Tiesha Reed was called out on a fielder’s choice by Sandberg. Tess Sito singled through the left side, followed by a Gracie Goulder walk that loaded the bases. With one out, Hubbard hit a sacrifice fly that scored Sandberg for Georgia’s run.”
