USSSA Names Lauren Chamberlain as National Director of USA Elite Select

 Viera, FL – USSSA has named Lauren Chamberlain as the National Director of USA-Elite Select, ​which comprises the Elite division of USSSA Fastpitch.  Lauren has been involved with USSSA in various capacities since 2015 as both a player with the USSSA Pride ​and ambassador for the organization at various events since her playing career ended.  

Lauren will work alongside National Director of USSSA Fastpitch​, Ryan Highfill in ​helping grow USSSA Fastpitch, specifically the Elite Select program. “Adding Lauren to our already strong fastpitch team will greatly benefit the sport and the vision of USSSA as an elite competitor within the fastpitch industry. I am excited for the opportunities ahead for our Elite Select program with both Lauren and Ryan at the forefront. We are building a team of well-connected and highly experienced individuals within our fastpitch department and adding Lauren to this position will be a benefit to anyone that plays USSSA,” said Don DeDonatis, CEO of USSSA. Chamberlain, who currently resides in Central Oklahoma, was a standout collegian at the University of Oklahoma and still holds the NCAA Career ​Home Run record with 95. She was a 3-time First T​eam All American and was a member of Oklahoma’s 2013 Women’s College World Series championship team. Prior to OU, Lauren played competitive travel ball with the Firecrackers organization and is a native of Orange, CA. ​Chamberlain is well-versed in the elite travel ball landscape. 

“I am beyond excited for my new role within the USSSA organization. Having competed at every level of softball, I feel that I have a strong perspective and a unique relationship with the sport and its current players. I am looking forward to building upon an already strong area of USSSA and continuing to grow the sport as a whole,” said Chamberlain. As the National Director of USA-Elite Select, Lauren will work to ensure the elite program aligns with the overall goals and vision of the national fastpitch program. She will work directly with Regional Advisors to oversee the regional calendar of events and work with USSSA State Directors and USA-ES event hosts to provide a full calendar of WFC Qualifiers, USA-ES Showcases, and Invitationals that best support each region. She will work with directors across the country to build and retain relationships with elite coaches, elite organizations, and college coaches.
