Get to Know Brittany Mack

Current LSU standout Brittany Mack took a time out from her tedious college schedule to discuss her opinions on the NPF and her excitement about being selected by the USSSA Pride at the 2012 NPF Draft.

1)      What are you looking forward to the most in the NPF?

I’m most looking forward to having the opportunity to play with some of the most amazing softball players the world has to offer. I’m also excited to spend time away from softball to get to know all the Pride girls personally because I’ve heard nothing but great things about all of them.

2)      What is your biggest strength that you can offer to the USSSA Pride and the NPF?

I would have to say my biggest strength I will bring to the NPF is my strong love and devotion to the game of softball. Softball has always been a huge part of my life and it truly is the greatest sport. I have a strong will to win and I will do whatever I can to help my new team get there, whether it’s my performance on the field or simply my cheerfulness in the dugout! Another strength I can bring to the NPF is my “cheerleader” side. No matter if it’s just practice or the championship game, I am always hollering and encouraging my teammates on!

3)      How exciting would it be to play in Baton Rouge this summer in a USSSA Pride uniform?

I am so excited!  I had a wonderful experience this past fall when I got to pitch against the NPF Team at LSU.  It will be great to be back with my LSU teammates and LSU’s amazing fans!

4)      What is your most memorable college moment?

My most memorable college softball moment is definitely the weekend series versus Alabama my junior year. Alabama was ranked number one in the country, and we had nothing to lose. It was a true battle all weekend long. Friday night, I ended up pitching 14 innings until we got a walk-off homerun to win the game. On Saturday, my teammate Rachele Fico ended up pitching 11 innings until we got another walk-off homerun! Luckily Sunday was able to end after the seventh inning! For LSU to be the underdogs and steal away all three wins from the best team in the country was an unbelievable feeling. I still replay that weekend over and over in my head!
