Grand slam Sealed the Deal for Pride

VIERA, FL (July 3rd, 2018) –The Pride battled during game two of the series against the Eagles but sealed the deal with a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth.

Keilani Rickett got the start in the circle and pitched the complete game. She earned the win after striking out nine and only allowing two hits throughout the seven innings.

Ricketts was named the Vaultz Lock It up Player of the Game for her excellent performance in the circle.

The pitchers battled it out until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Pride finally plated

After a scoreless five innings for both teams, Nicole DeWitt had the first hit of the game for the Pride and Megan Wiggins followed by getting on base.

With runners on first and third Sierra Romero stepped up to the plate and hit one hard passed the third baseman to score DeWitt and get the first RBI of the night, the score was 1-0.

Romero and Wiggins remained on base as there were no outs and Kelly Kretschman drew a walk to load the bases for Lauren Chamberlain.

Chamberlain sends one to deep left field for a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning to advanced the score to 5-0.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Chamberlain remained ready at the plate and blasted one over left field for a solo homerun.

USSSA Pride’s defense shut down the Eagles for the last three outs of the ball game and ending the game with the official score of 5-0.

Come out to the USSSA Space Coast Stadium Wednesday, July 4 at 6:35 P.M. EST as the Pride host the third game of the Beijing series and stay with us because after the game there will be fireworks!
