Pride travels to West Coast

USSSA Pride owner, Don DeDonatis, announced today the team’s participation in the prestigious college tournament, the Cathedral City Classic.

The annual event will take place at its traditional venue, Big League Dreams Sports Park. The showcase features 34 college softball teams, including 22 NCAA Tournament teams from last season, five 2011 WCWS teams and 19 All-American softball student-athletes.

“Bringing our girls to this tournament not only gives the NPF (National Pro-Fastpitch) great exposure but we want to show current college players that there will be a competitive and successful professional league  waiting for them once they graduate,” said DeDonatis.

The Pride will start the week off in Los Angeles, California playing an exhibition game against Cal State Northridge. Former Olympian and Matadors Head Coach Tairia Flowers said, “We’re excited to bring some of the best in our sport to our campus for what should be a great day. The Pride brings in a talented roster of former college standouts and our club is looking forward to the test.”

After facing the Matadors, the Pride will then travel to Palm Springs to face Cal State San Marcos (2/23), Concordia College (2/25), and Victor Valley (2/26).
