Pride Swing Big Against the Eagles

 VIERA, FL. (July 25, 2019) –The Pride continue a competitive series with the Beijing Eagles. Both teams have been traveling back and forth from Beijing’s home field in Daytona to the USSSA Space Coast Stadium to complete this series.

The Pride are now on a five game winning streak after they won the night’s high scoring game with a final score of 8 to 6!

Jessica Burroughs started in the circle for the Pride and struck out three of the Eagles hitters.

Brittany Cervantes started the scoring the USSSA Pride with hit a three- run home run in the bottom of the first!

Megan Wiggins added to the score, by crossing the plate on a ground ball hit by Alex Powers.

Jessica Warren continued the Pride’s hitting streak with a double to the left center fence bringing home Kelly Kretschman

Alexa Peterson laid down a nice bunt down the first base line and made it safely to first, which allowed speedy Allexis Bennett to make it home safely.

Cervantes stayed hot in the box and hit a double scoring two more runs.

Jessica Burroughs was relieved by Jailyn Ford in the top of the third inning. Ford had 7 strikeouts for the game before being relieved by Megan Good in the top of the sixth inning.

Megan Good kept the Beijing Eagles from scoring in the top of the sixth inning and had two strikeouts in the save for the game.

The RIP-IT sports Player of the Game was Brittany Cervantes!

She hit a monster three run shot and a double scoring two runs. She went 2 for 4 scoring five runs to help seal the win for the Pride.
