Romero returns for a two-year extension

VIERA, FL (February 1, 2019) – The USSSA Florida Pride have signed 3 year veteran and stellar second baseman Sierra Romero to a two-year extension team officials announced today.

Former Michigan and NCAA Division 1 record holder for being the first player in history with  300 runs, 300 hits and 300 RBIs, Sierra posted a .407 batting average in the Pride’s 2018 season with seven homeruns and 25 RBI’s in 31 games.  

“We are excited to have Sierra back in Viera for the next two seasons”, Pride general manager Don DeDonatis said.  “Her impeccable work ethic and competitive edge creates a positive influence for those around her.  We know what she can bring to the table both offensively and defensively and that along with her veteran experience is a win win win for the Pride.”

Another Pride player to join the college coaching ranks in her off season, Sierra is the Oregon Ducks volunteer assistant coach this year.  “I am proud to announce Sierra as our volunteer assistant coach,” said head coach Melyssa Lombardi. “She brings great knowledge of the game, high level experience and has played on the sport’s biggest stages”.
