USSSA Pride Unleashed the Bats for a 10-0 Victory

VIERA, FL. (July 2, 2019) – The Pride run ruled the Beijing eagles to get the second win of the series!

The bats were alive in tonight’s game as the Pride strung hits together scoring five runs in the first inning.

Jessica Burroughs started in the circle for the Pride and got the win. Pagie Parker came in and closed the fifth and final inning of the game. 

Jessie Warren put the top of the first to rest making all three outs. The Pride wasted no time bringing the bats out hot tonight having a total of 14 hits.

Amanda Lorenz lead off the first hitting a sharp ground ball getting a double. Sydney Romero  blasted her first two run home run to take the early lead 2-0.

Chelsea Goodacre kept the streak alive scoring Megan Wiggins from first and hitting herself a triple. 

Warren scored Wiggins from third making the score 4-0 still with no outs still in the first.

Bianka Bell smashed the ball up the middle scoring Warren adding to the lead 5-0 with one out.

Two ground outs ended the first, the Beijing Eagles made two good plays to go into the top of the second. 

Burroughs ended the top of the second with a strikeout as the Beijing Eagles made a pitching change. 

Kat Moore got her first double and run of her career leading off the bottom of the fourth inning!  

Lorenz scored Moore on a hit to left center, scoring the first run since the beginning of the game. Alexa Peterson hit a bomb bouncing off the left field fence scoring the runner from third.

Alex Powers then hit an RBI scoring two runners which made the lead 9-0. Megan Good had an identical hit to Peterson’s making it to third. 

Moore brought in the 10th run of the game, and the fourth ended with a line drive by Lorenz caught in left field.

Going into the top of the fifth the Pride were up 10-0. Parker pitched to four batters having one strikeout and the game ended with the Beijing Eagles hitting a slow roller to first.

The Park Planet Player of the game was Sydney Romero! Romero got the Pride the lead of the game hitting a two run home run in her first at bat. She went at the 1for 3 with 2 RBIs, a run scored, and a home run plate.

Wednesday, July 3rd the Pride take on the Beijing Eagles for game three of the series at 7:05 P.M. ET at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
