Kissimmee, FL- USSSA Pride welcome one of the premier names in women’s fast pitch to the broadcast booth this season as former Virginia Tech Hokie and NPF star Angela Tincher will join Bernie Guenther on air this season for home Pride games. ” We are blessed to have Angela. She is one of the premier names in Fastpitch Softball and we are lucky to get the opportunity to share her knowledge of the game with Pride fans during the 2013 season,” Pride play by play analyst Bernie Guenther said when asked about the opportunity to work with Tincher.

Tincher is a former All-American pitcher who played for the Virginia Tech softball team from 2005–2008, and was a 2008 first-round draft selection for the NPF Akron Racers. Tincher ranks third behind Monica Abbott and Cat Osterman on the NCAA Division I Softball career strikeouts list with 2,149. In 2008, she led the nation in strikeouts (651), ERA (0.62), and strikeouts per seven innings (14), and was recognized for the third straight year as ACC Pitcher of the Year. On February 19, 2006 she set her first school record by striking out 19 in seven-innings of work against the University of North Carolina.

Tincher was the third overall pick in the first round of the 2008 National Pro Fastpitch Senior Draft. The Akron Racers signed Tincher to Multi-Year deal and she made her professional debut on June 10, 2008 in a 7-2 loss to the Washington Glory, the team who in 2009 became the USSSA Pride.

The USSSA Pride kick off their season this Sunday, June 9 against the NY/NJ Comets at 8:05. Go to dev.usssapride.com for live coverage!
