Connecting with Charters: Hanging with the Hatters

Last week ended with the USSSA Pride’s Ashley Charters visiting Stetson University Softball team, located in Deland, Florida. The Stetson University Softball team are known as the Hatters and a part of the Alantic Sun Conference.  They are lead by Head coach Frank Griffin and Associate Head Coach Vanessa Bataille.

Head Coach Frank Griffin is in his 16th season leading the Hatters and has worked diligently to build a successful softball program that boasts numerous Atlantic Sun Conference appearances along with leading a fundraising effort to build the softball complex there today.  The Hatters welcomed Charters to their practice with a great a question and answer session that included topics such as: opportunities in the National Pro Fastpitch, mental toughness, and softball experiences in college. The Hatters also had the opportunity to show some of their Stetson Pride by performing one of their cheers they perform prior to games. Overall, the visit proved to be a great success in spreading the knowledge of the National Pro Fastpitch and connecting with the fanbase of the USSSA Pride.
