Don DeDonatis Sr. returns to manage the USSSA Pride

Viera, Florida, April 19, 2021 — The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), America’s largest multi-sport association, today announced that Don DeDonatis Sr. is returning as General Manager of the USSSA Pride — the nation’s no. 1 professional fastpitch softball team.

DeDonatis Sr. served as the USSSA Pride’s General Manager for 10 consecutive seasons beginning in 2009. He previously led the team to ten National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) finals and five NPF championship wins, including the team’s most recent victory in 2019.

“As we gear up for the start of a new season, I can’t think of a better person to help lead this team of amazing athletes,” said Donny DeDonatis, USSSA CEO and son of DeDonatis Sr. “No one knows this team like he does, and welcoming him back to his original role of that of General Manager, shows our commitment to the sport and the future of the Pride in the USSSA organization.”

In his role as General Manager, Don will serve as the team’s primary talent scout, selecting the best new athletes for the USSSA Pride team based on chemistry fit, branding alignment in conjunction with the USSSA Fastpitch program and skillset. His day-to-day responsibilities will include communicating with coaching staff, negotiating player and facility contracts, building out the team’s roster and promoting the USSSA Pride brand. 

“My hope is to keep the USSSA Pride as the #1 women’s professional Fastpitch team in the country, “ said Don. “And doing that while promoting the USSSA fastpitch program and supporting women in sports as I have done for many years”
