Nashville – The National Pro Fastpitch League Office announced today the League Supervisor of Officials appointment of Chris Nabors.
Nabors has extensive experience in various levels of collegiate fastpitch softball. In professional fastpitch, in particular, he was the Umpires Coordinator for the Tennessee Diamonds in 2010. As an umpire himself, Nabors has several years of experience in NCAA Division I post-season play. He has also umpired in the NAIA National Tournament. Nabors currently is umpiring in the SEC, Big 12, ACC, Big 10, Sun Belt, OVC, and A-Sun Conference.
“I am honored to be selected as the Supervisor of Officials for the National Pro Fastpitch league. It is a great opportunity to contribute something to our wonderful game as it continues to grow. Protecting the integrity of our game is a huge responsibility shared by all who participate. I am thrilled to be in the NPF family and am looking forward to working with everyone as we begin our exciting 2011 season,”said Nabors.
Nabors, as the NPF League Supervisor of Officials will be directly responsible for establishing, managing, overseeing, and improving all League criteria for officials. He will create a program to track and score individual umpire performance, oversee selection of Championship Series Officials, and create training programs to encourage professional performance maintenance of existing umpires as well properly train and prepare new officials.
