NPF Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt

JOIN THE NPF ON APRIL 4TH TO PLAY!

Nashville – Charley the Championship Crawfish has gone missing! The National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF) is relying on their fans to help find him, so Charley can be ready for the August 19th, 2011 Championship Series opening game. The Championship Series will be played August 19th – 21st at McMurray Park in Sulphur, LA. The NPF is kicking off the scavenger hunt on the League’s Facebook page, giving fans a chance to win great prizes from the League’s sponsors, suppliers, and partners.

The scavenger hunt will begin Monday, April 4th and be ongoing through September of 2011. A new hunt with new clues will begin on the first day of every month for six months, beginning with the April 4th start. Fans of National Pro Fastpitch on Facebook will be given clues to help find secret locations where Charley the Championship Crawfish is located. Followers of National Pro Fastpitch on Twitter and friends on Facebook will be the first to know when a new clue is available. A new clue will be released each day for twelve days straight. Starting the 13th day, fans will be able to submit their answers.

“Social media, especially Facebook and Twitter, are great fan resources. The Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to engage our current social media followers and a plan to attract many more” said NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf. “This promotion is something that not only helps increase our social media traffic, but also generates excitement for the upcoming NPF season.”

Eleven different league Supplier’s websites along with the four existing NPF Team’s websites, will act as secret locations where Charley the Championship Crawfish can be found. At each location, Charley will be wearing a letter. Once gathered and combined, the letter “clues” will spell out a specific word. Contestants must submit the completed word by the last day of the respective month to be eligible for prizes. Prizes will include NPF and Team branded merchandise, along with clothing, gear, and equipment provided by NPF Suppliers.

“NPF is very grateful for the suppliers and sponsors that are so supportive of our athletes, teams, and the league overall,” said Vice President of Development Gaye Lynn Wilson. “It is always our goal to be a good partner with the manufacturers that are on board with us. This initiative will increase awareness of the NPF, as well as awareness of the top quality products of each of our suppliers. We wouldn’t be able to have exciting promotions like this without great partnerships within the fastpitch softball industry.”

Participating league suppliers and sponsors include: Boombah, Combat, Diamond, Louisville Slugger, Miken, Mizuno, Pointstreak, Ringor, RipIt, Wilson, and Worth.

Prizes for finding Charley the Championship Crawfish and submitting the correct answer include: autographed player cards, backpacks, autographed player bats, cleats, batting gloves, fielders gloves, and much more. Information and clues can be found beginning Monday, April 4 on the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Facebook page. The scavenger hunt is open to fans of all ages.

Full Contest Rules will be on the Facebook page beginning on April 4, 2011.
