Washington, PA– July 10, 2015- The USSSA Pride defeated the Pennsylvania Rebellion 2-1 Friday night to improve to 16-7. With only four hits, this match-up was certainly a pitching duel between Osterman and Kramer.

Starting Pride pitcher Cat Osterman pitched a full seven innings and improved to 7-2 on the 2015 NPF season. Tonight was also Miranda Kramer’s pitching debut for the Rebellion who earned the loss.

Game one against the Rebellion began with hit by pitch that placed lead off hitter Natasha Watley on first. Our luck ran out quickly following a double play by the Rebellion that stopped the Pride from scoring. Unfortunately the Racers were a tad bit luckier. Following a lead off walk to start the bottom of the first. The Racers drew one more walk before two Rebellion batters were hit by pitches that in turn led to the Rebellion scoring one.

Innings two through six were scoreless and it seemed to become more of a pitching duel between Cat Osterman and Miranda Kramer. Osterman totaled 9 strikeouts and held the Rebellion to no hits while Kramer only allowed four and struck out four batters.

In the 7th Shelby Pendley came up huge for the Pride with a game winning double that brought in two runs, following a lead off single by Kelly Kretschman and a hit by pitch that awarded Brigette Del Ponte with first. Osterman shut the Rebellion down in the bottom of the seventh with a 2-1 win and recorded a no-hitter after throwing a complete game.

The USSSA Pride will take on the Pennsylvania Rebellion in their second double header of the season tomorrow night (July 11) starting at 5:05 PM (ET). Game two will start approximately thirty minutes after game one.
