Pride Clench Series Win Against Canadian Wild

VIERA, FL. (July 21, 2019) The last and final game of the series between the USSSA Pride and the Canadian Wild took place at the USSSA Fast pitch Stadium!

With each team getting a couple quick hits in the first inning neither team was able to push any runners across in our opening inning of Sunday night’s game.

As the Pride came back up in the bottom of the 2 nd they were determined to get on the board, and sure enough that’s what they did. Thanks to Sydney Romero’s single through the 5-6 hole, Bianka Bell who was courtesy running for Alexa Peterson was able to come in and score the Pride’s first run of the game.
With that Pride run the Wild made a great push in the top of the 3 rd loading up the bases, off three hits.

The Wild had a grade a chance with two outs until Jolene Henderson put a stop to the Wilds chance striking out Franklin.
A double from Wiggins in the bottom of the 3 rd the Pride were able to get some more bats going as Alexa Peterson was able to drive in Wiggins with a 2 out single, giving the Pride a 2 nothing lead.

It only took 1 swing for Jennifer Gilbert to bring the wild within one as she took Alvelo deep to center field. After Alvelo bounced back with getting 2 outs, Polidori followed Gilberts footsteps by going yard herself to tie up the game.

The Wild had a rally going in the top of the fifth adding another one on to the board to take the lead before the Pride could get out of the inning.
Brittany Cervantes lead the Pride of in the bottom of the 5 th with a double to right field beating out the throw. She got some momentum back for the Pride, and Megan Good felt it too as she drove Cervantes in with a single to tie the game up in the bottom of the fifth.

Alex Powers wasn’t going to let that be the only run the Pride pushed across in the bottom of the 5th , as she her-self hit a single down the right field line that Good was able to trot home, and give the Pride the lead heading into the 6th.

The back and forth contest continued as the Wild applied more pressure onto the Pride with tying up the game in the top of the 6th.
What a way to end it. Brittany Cervantes with a Walk off home run to win it for the Pride in the bottom of the 7th.

Pride win it with a final score 5-4.

Getting the win in the circle tonight for the Pride was Jailyn Ford coming into the game with a tie score
in the 6 th throwing one pitch and retiring one batter.

And of course our RIP-IT player of the game, the walk-off home run hitting, Brittany Cervantes! Cervantes finished the game going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a homerun to cap an outstanding night at the dish.
