Pride Crushes Team Florida after explosive 3rd inning, 7-3

Viera, FL (August 4, 2021)- On Wednesdays we were Pink “Mean Girls”. For the last Wednesday home game of the season the Pride are doing their part in supporting Brest Cancer Awareness and Pinking out the park.

Last night’s closer was today’s starter. Jessica Burroughs was in the circle tonight pitched four innings giving up one run on five hits and striking out two batters.

Amanda Lorenz led the bottom of the first inning off with a home run to left center field. Team Florida tied the game in the top of the second inning. Tiffany Dominique led the inning off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Riley Ludlam drove in Dominique with a single to left.

Pride had an explosive third inning scoring five runs on three homeruns. Lorenz had her second homerun of the game sending a bomb to deep center. Sahvanna Jaquish doubled and Shay Knighten homered to deep left field driving in Jaquish. Alyssa Palomino-Cardozo singled and Sierra Romero hit her first home run of the season to deep center driving in Palomino-Cardozo.

Samantha Show came in relief of Burroughs pitching three innings giving up two runs on three hits and walking two. Team Florida scored two runs in the top of the fifth and the Pride answered with one run in the bottom of the inning.
