Pride Defeat Eagles in Game Four

VIERA, FL (July 5, 2018) – A breezy night at the Space Coast Stadium produced another win for the USSSA Pride.

Game four of the series was clenched by the Pride with a score of 5-0.

Jessica Burroughs got the start in the circle for the night’s game. Burroughs pitched five and a third innings and only gave up three hits striking out two in her performance.

Paige Parker came in for the second night in a row to close, finishing the game with one and two-thirds of an inning and shut out the Eagles with no hits. Parker struck out four in her appearance.

The starter for the Eagles, Angel Bunner, held the pride for two innings until the bottom of the third when Lauren Chamberlain punches a single through the five-six hole to get the Pride of the board.

Bunner threw three complete, striking out two while giving up three hits.

After making ESPN’s Top Ten best plays of the day yesterday, Megan Wiggins made another SportsCenter worthy play in the top of the fourth, diving into shallow right field to snag a base hit.

Chamberlain, in the top of the fifth crushed a two-run bomb to left center to put the Pride up by four.

Shelby Pendley and Sierra Romero both posted two hit affairs to help seal the deal for the Pride.

Megan Wiggins was named the Vaultz Lock It Up Player of the Game for her spectacular performance in the outfield.

Tomorrow night the Pride host the Eagles for the remaining two games of the series in a double header beginning at 5:05 P.M. EST. Come out to Space Coast Stadium and support the Pride.
