Pride Rolls in 3 Game Set in California

catPalm Springs, CA- The USSSA Pride took to California in this chilly week the play a 3 game set against 3 different teams. Cal Baptist, Washington, and Team Toyota out of Japan each played the Pride in exhibition play.

During the week the Pride played their first game against Cal Baptist University, who arguably gave the Pride their toughest contest of the week, with the Pride winning 5-2. Caitlin Lowe started right where she left off in 2012, going 2-3 with 2 singles in the game. Kelsey Bruder was a bright spot as well for the Pride, going 2-3 on the day with 2 singles and 2 RBI.  Andrea Duran, Lauren Lappin, and Nikia Williams all had a hit in the victory for the Pride.

The Prides next game was against the University of Washington, where they rolled to an 8-3 victory. Caitlin Lowe continued the hot streak going 4-5 with a home run and 4 runs scored. Ashley Charter got off to a good start in the game going 2-4 with a walk and 2 doubles. Jenn Salling had somewhat of an odd day at the plate, going 1-4 with 3 runs scored, having reached on a walk and twice reached on error.

For the third and final game the Pride took to Paris, CA to face off against Team Toyota; a professional fast pitch team out of Japan. The Pride won in a lopsided victory 10-2. Ashley Charters went 2-3 with a home run and 2 runs scored. Kelsey Bruder went 1-3 with a double and a run scored. The game was a tight 2-1 game until the Pride had a huge 4th inning, scoring 5 runs and then scoring 3 in the 5th, Jamee Juarez went 2-3 for the Pride, hitting a home run and scoring two runs.
