Pride Sweep in Rainout Double Header

VIERA, FL. (June 20, 2019) The Pride were back in action tonight for a double header against the Aussie Peppers to make up for the postponed game Wednesday, June 19th.

The USSSA Pride came out swinging in game one of the night with another win at the Space Coast Stadium. A 9-1 win over the Aussie Peppers in game two of the five game series.

It didn’t take long for the Pride to get on the board as Chelsea Goodacre hit into a fielder’s choice scoring Sydney Romero in the bottom of the first.

The Peppers responded quickly as they tied it up in the top of the second.

The Pride responded quickly and broke the tie, when Alex Powers scoring from second off of a throwing error in the bottom of the second.

It was a good bottom of the thrid for the pride as they managed to get two more runs across to increase the lead 4-1.

Nicole Pendley starts off the bottom of the fifth with a huge double off the wall. That got the Pride rally going until Bianka Bell had to end the fun by hitting a huge walk off Grand Slam to run rule the Peppers.

The Final score of game two of the series resulted in a 9-1 Victory for the Pride.

The Pride look very confident at the plate during their 9-1 victory over the Aussie Peppers.

In the circle and getting the win for the 5-inning appearance was Jailyn Ford. Ford in her five innings pitched allowed only two hits, and one run while striking out four.

GAME 2

VIERA, FL. (June 20, 2019) The Pride face off against the Aussie Peppers in game two of the double header.

The USSSA Pride once again they found themselves scoring in the first inning. However this time they put up five runs to take a commanding lead right out of the gate.

The Peppers have yet to retaliate with any runs, even into the top of the third.

Bottom of the third and the score still remains 5-0, in favor of the Pride.

The Pride maintain their 5-0 lead to end the third inning.

The Aussie Peppers swap pitchers to start the fourth, hoping to bring about a comeback.

The USSSA Pride maintain a very strong lead of 5-0 to end the fourth inning.

The Pride bring in two more runs, giving them an even better lead, to end the fifth inning 7-0.

Aussie Peppers managed to score one run, bringing the game to 7-1 at the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Pride manage to get another run under their belt to finish the sixth inning 8-1.

The Pride win both of the games from their double header tonight, to continue the series against the Aussie Peppers at 3 wins, 0 losses.

The Park Planet Players of the day were Bianka Bell and Taran Alvelo. Bianka Bell went 3 for 3 with 3 runs and 5 RBIs including a walk off Grand Slam in game one. In game two it was Taran Alvelo who controlled the circle. She went 4 innings giving up 2 runs, and striking out 6.

Friday evening June 21st the Pride take on the Aussie Peppers for game four of the series at 7:05 P.M. ET at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
