Tonight the Pride come out on top in another pitcher’s duel. The USSSA Pride hold the Smash It Sports Vipers scoreless for the full seven innings, including a bases-loaded threat in the seventh, with Sam Show and Ellen Roberts combing for the shutout.
The Pride scored their only run of the ball game in the bottom of the second inning. Chelsea Goodacre leads off the inning with a single up the middle and moves to second with another single by Taylor Ellsworth. Goodacre moves to third on a deep fly ball by Abbey Cheek, then comes around to score on the single by Casidy Chaumont.
Pitching and defense ruled the night again, with both teams combining for 10 hits on the night. Chelsea Goodacre has her second multi-hit game in a row, while Mary Iakopo for the Smash It Sports Vipers also had two hits.
