Roman & Penny Foore Join Pride Coaching Staff

Roman Foore brings a wealth of experience as a player, head coach and assistant coach at the highest levels to the USSSA Pride coaching staff.

The USSSA Pride is excited to announce that Roman Foore will be joining the organization as head coach of the team for the 2020 season. Penny Foore will also join the coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Prior to joining the Pride, Roman Foore coached six seasons as an assistant at Bethel with his wife and Bethel University head coach, Penny Foore. He was a highly accomplished men’s fastpitch player and a member of the United States Men’s National Fastpitch Team, earning numerous honors during his playing career. Currently, Foore is a player rep serving on the selection committee for the Men’s National Fastpitch Team.

Roman Foore is no  stranger to professional women’s fastpitch — for three years, Foore was the associate head coach with the Chicago Bandits, helping them to two Cowles Cup championships in the National Pro Fastpitch league. In 2017, Foore was the head coach of the Texas Charge and the following year, joined the Scrap Yard Dawgs as head coach.

As well as a successful tenure at Bethel University, Penny Foore has had numerous coaching experiences at the NCAA Division I, high school, club and professional levels

Assistant coach Penny Foore coached her sixth season at Bethel University in 2020. Foore led the Royals to their first MIAC Championship in her inaugural season and also holds the top two winning percentages in program history with 25-13 (.658) in 2019 and 28-15 (.651) in 2015. Outside of Bethel she was the pitching coach for Scrap Yard in 2018 and was an assistant with the Texas Charge the previous year. Her own experience as a player was at Concordia University – St. Paul where she hit 20 career home runs (fourth all-time) and helped lead them to the 2001 NSIC Tournament Championship.

Stephanie Ceo will enter into her second season as an assistant coach with the Pride. She was a four-year starter as a Texas Longhorn.

“Roman and Penny Foore will be a great addition to our USSSA Pride coaching staff. Each has previous experience having coached professional athletes in the NPF League the last several years. Successfully working with the top athletes in the sport takes coaches with a lot of credibility to be able to earn the respect of the athletes and create a strong relationship on the field. I have no doubt that Penny and Roman will be a great asset to our already phenomenal USSSA Pride roster this season,” remarked USSSA CEO Donny DeDonatis III.

He added, “Stephanie Ceo joined the USSSA Pride coaching staff last summer in 2019 and was a great addition to our Pride team.  I am confident that she will pick up right where our team and staff left off having won the league championship. Stephanie brings great insight as a former player at the D1 level and previous international experience. She relates and connects well to our players and is able to help offer a unique and personal perspective that I know our team appreciates. I can’t wait to see what Roman, Penny and Steph are able to accomplish alongside our Pride team this year.”

Ceo will enter into her second year as an assistant coach with the Pride. Outside of USSSA, Ceo is an assistant at Texas Tech. As a player, she started all four years as a Texas Longhorn at second base and helped her team reach the College World Series three times.
