Shut out Victory for the USSSA Pride

For the second night in a row, pitching and defense rule the night for the Pride.  Monica Abbott gets the start in the circle, and throws four innings, striking out nine while allowing only two baserunners.  Keely Rochard bounces back with a stellar performance to complete the shutout with three scoreless innings allowing three hits, one walk, and one strikeout.

The Pride was able to take advantage of seven walks to score five runs on only four hits.  Delaney Spaulding was 2-2 with a walk and an RBI for the night.  Abbey Cheek came in for a pinch-hit in the 5th inning and gave the ball a ride over the fence to deep center field, for her first of this young season.

The Pride leaves Shawnee, Kansas 2-1 as they return to Viera and the beautiful Space Coast complex to play the Smash it Sports Vipers on June 22nd.
