Brittany Mack, the 1st overall pick made by the USSSA Pride in the 2012 NPF Draft and was named a 2012 SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year on May 9, arrived at USSSA Headquaters to meet with Don DeDonatis to dicuss her contract terms today. The meeting ended with a handshake and Mack officially signed with the team that drafted her first overall in the NPF Draft.
Brittany Mack brings some youth and her strong arm will fit right in with the other pitchers in the USSSA Pride location. Mack will learn from former olympian Cat Osterman, NPF veteran and all time Pride strikeout leader Sarah Pauly, along with Danielle Lawrie.
According to LSUReveille “Mack was named to the 2011 NFCA All-America Third Team and the 2011 All-Southeastern Conference First Team at the conclusion of last season…[she] ranked in the top six in the SEC in wins, batters struck out, earned run average and home runs allowed.”
Recently in the 2012 season she started to hand the pitching reins over to another player at LSU, junior Rachele Fico. Helping the younger pitchers along was one of thee duties that Brittany Mack assumed in her senior season at LSU.
