Kissimmee, FL– June 8, 2016- The USSSA Florida Pride is pleased to announce the signing of free agent, Nikki Sagermann to a two-year contract. This summer, the former Kentucky Wildcat will be joining fellow rookie and former teammate, Kelsey Nunley, for a chance to win the prestigious Cowles Cup. Nikki and Kelsey make up the first duo of former Wildcats to don a Pride uniform in the same season.

“I am honored to be considered a part of the USSSA Pride. I cannot wait to learn from and play with role models I watched growing up and to be a part of an amazing program.”

Nikki left the Kentucky softball program following a historic era for UK softball that coincided with her four years as a Wildcat. Nikki was an integral part of that success and not only hopes to bring her competitive nature to the field but her passion for the game that she loves.

The Georgia native finished her NCAA career among the school’s career leaders in career slugging percentage (.523) and finished with 121 career RBIs, 29 career doubles and 34 career home runs that place her in the top 10 on UK’s career home runs list.

Apart from her offensive dominance, Nikki’s career accolades include NFCA All-Southeast Region Third Team (2014), All-SEC Second Team (2014), SEC All-Tournament Team (2014) and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient (2013 & 2014).

“I think Nikki will be a great addition to the Pride staff and USSSA organization. She will have the chance to learn from some of the best players in the game and bring her skill set to give us a competitive edge this summer,” commented General Manager Don DeDonatis.

Catch Nikki and the Pride in their 2016 season debut this Friday, June 10th, as they take on the Scrap Yard Dawgs for the first time franchise history. First pitch is set for 8:30 PM (EST). Follow live game updates all season long on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
