Viera, FL (June 29th, 2021)- Tonight featured our largest crown for Bark in the Park night at Space Coast Stadium. The Brevard Humane Society bought dogs out for adoption along with many fans bringing their furry friends. With day two of the Space Coast World Series underway, many young athletes watched a great comeback victory by the Pride.
Jailyn Ford took the circle for the first game of a three-game series tonight against Mexico. Her 12-inning scoreless streak ended in the second inning with Mexico scoring two runs on three hits. Ford made an amazing defensive play diving in front of home plate to save a run from scoring. Mexico scored their third run in the top of the fourth going up 3-0 over the Pride.
The Pride quickly answered Mexico’s 3 run lead in the fourth scoring all 4 of their runs with a two out rally. Sam Show led the inning off with a single followed by a double by Chelsea Goodacre having runners on second and third with 1 out. Megan Good struck out, but Haley Cruse picked her up singling to center field scoring two runs. Cruse advanced to second on an error by the center fielder. Aleisha Ocasio followed with a two out double tying the game. Amanda Lorenz singled to right field scoring Ocasio and the Pride going up 4-3.
Jessica Burroughs came in relief of Ford in the top of the fifth inning. Just like in her previous outing, Burroughs was able to shut the door and not allow Mexico to score the remainder of the game.
