USSSA Pride to face Dallas Charge in four-game series

Kissimmee, FL—July 26, 2016—The USSSA Pride begin their two-week-long road trip on Wednesday. They’ll start in McKinney, TX, when they face the Dallas Charge at the Ballfields at Craig Ranch.

The Pride completed a three-game sweep of the Akron Racers on Monday, moving to 25-10 on the season. The series finale went to eight innings and ended after Kelly Kretschman hit a walk-off home run.

The Charge most recently faced off with the Pride in Kansas City on July 13 and 14. They completed a two-game sweep of Dallas in games scored 6-3 and 7-1. The Pride are 4-2 against the Charge on the season and will try to take the last of their four series against Dallas.

Series Schedule

Wednesday, July 27, 5:30 & 8:30 PM (ET)

Thursday, July 28, 8:30 PM (ET)

Friday, July 29, 8:30 PM (ET)

Pride players to watch:

  • Courtney Ceo: A master with a glove, Ceo has come into the game mostly to play defense for the Pride. Getting some at bats, though, she has proven to be more than able to get the job done with a bat. In games against the Charge this season, Ceo is batting .428. She is getting on base and giving her teammates chances to knock in runs. Look for her to use her speed to pick up bases in this series.
  • Keilani Ricketts: The left-handed pitcher has been a stud against Dallas this season. Ricketts played in two games against the Charge and threw 15 total innings, including eight innings in one game. In those 15 innings she allowed just seven hits and just two earned runs. She struck out 13 and walked just three with one hit batter. Opposing batters were kept to a .135 average. Look for Ricketts to continue to keep Charge batters off balance.
  • Shelby Pendley: The shortstop is showing her offensive power at the three and four spots in the lineup this season. Although having a good season all around, Pendley is batting a dominant .444 against Dallas. She has knocked in three runs, but base when the top of the lineup doesn’t get on her main role is to put a runner on and let her teammates bring her in.
  • Sierra Romero: The rookie second baseman is showing that she didn’t leave her power behind when she graduated college. Romero is batting .373 on the season while batting .333 (6-18) against the Charge. She has four RBI in games against Dallas, displaying her ability to drive in runners in clutch situations.
