Viera, FL– August 3, 2017-The Pride continue the month of August with a three-game series against the Scrap Yard Dawgs on August 4th, 5th and 6th at USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
The Pride have maintained their first place standing adding two more wins to their overall record improving to 31-8. In thirty-nine games, the Pride offense has scored 201 runs, with 46 home runs, 184 RBI and 316 hits. The Pride pitching staff has totaled 229 strikeouts with a 1.78 ERA. In their last series played, the Pride swept the Charge in a two-game series, outscoring Texas 10-2.
As of July 5th, the Pride have an overall record of 5-2 versus the Scrap Yard Dawgs this season. The teams will meet for the final time this August before the postseason begins with all three games set for a 7:05PM start time. The three-game series concludes on August 6th. - Kelly Kretschman: Currently leads the league and USSSA in hits (48), tied with Alexis Bennett, runs (28), batting average .500, on-base percentage .628, slugging percentage .813, and 11 doubles. Kelly has 5 HR, 18 RBI, 4 stolen bases and 2 triples.
- Shelby Pendley: Currently leads the league and USSSA in home runs (12), in her last game appearance Pendley had back-to-back homers against the Charge to help secure the Pride’s 31st win of the season. This is her second game where she has had back-to-back homers on the same night. On the season, Shelby has 27 RBI, 31 hits, 26 runs, 3 doubles and is hitting .287.
- Sierra Romero: Currently has 7 HR, 28 RBI, 29 hits, 16 runs and a .299 batting average.
- Keilani Ricketts: Leads the Pride in strikeouts (59) with 59 strikeouts and a winning record of 8-3.
